This is a model twin design by Matt Brooks. Matt calls this little beauty the “Draken Twin”. This little beauty is powered with 2 GWS edf 50 motors and a 2 cell 1200 mah lithium polymer pack. To say this model is agile is an understatement. Quite a remarkable model! Here's what Matt had to say about this design.
The Draken Twin is a result of a craving. I wanted a small, quick, agile, TWIN that could use the GWS EDP-50 motors direct drive and a rather large LiPo 2s pack. I must say that I'm happy with the result and after encouraging from Roger here at Winger Models and a few others I finally have plans ready for all to enjoy :)
Construction is entirely balsa except the elevator control horn; 1/32 sheet, 1/16 sheet, 3/32 stick and some blocks sanded to shape.
Flying, this is what the Draken Twin is made for! Launching is as easy as powering up and letting go. It accelerates very quickly and can change direction even quicker. Wind will toss this lil' beast around but not as bad as you might think. This aircraft is equally happy flying at speeds nearing 50 mph or putting along under 15 mph without a hint of tipstalling thanks to it's forward swept wing. Landing is as easy as pulling the power back and holding up elevator. With an AUW of ~5.6oz and a wingarea of 119sqin the Draken Twin turns on a dime and lands like a feather!
Here's a list of the hardware need to complete the Draken Twin:
2 EDP-50 XC with 3x3 hypderdrive props
2 GWS pico servos
1 GWS 4p pico rec
1 GWS 5A ECS
1 2 series Etec 1200 LiPo pack or equivilant

This is a picture of the Draken Twin showing a different style empennage assembly. It flies equally as well as the single tailed version but doesn't it look great with the twin vertical stabs! Details for both tail assemblies are shown on Matts plans.
Plans are drawn full-size in Cad with all details neccesary to complete the model.
