The Hotfoot is a EDP 50 XC powered indoor pylon racer. The wingspan is 24.23 inches, wingarea is 106 square inches and the fuselage length is 19.65 inches. The complete airframe weight before painting and equipment installation is just 1 ounce.
The airframe is constructed using balsa and plywood.
Flying the Hotfoot is pretty easy - from first handlaunch she flew directly away. If you are comfortable flying a spirited aileron controlled model, you will have no problem with the Hotfoot. For such a small little motor, this model is fairly quick. Aircraft weight complete, except for batteries, is 3.2 ounces.
I've tried the 2 cell Lithium polymer 850 so far. These may be a little heavy for this size model and will get some 340 mah shortly. It flew fine with these batteries but the 340 2s would save 3/4 ounce of weight. A substantial amount on a model of this size.
We have an indoor funfly coming up in February on the 28th, I'll be ready. Get a Hotfoot for yourself and come race.
The equipment I used in the Hotfoot consisted of:
2 GWS Nano servos
You can download a video of the Hotfoot in flight in .avi format.
Plans are drawn full-size in Cad with all details neccesary to complete the model.
