The Quickie is the subject of an Ebook I am currently writing and plans for the Quickie will be included. The book "Design model aircraft for fun and profit" will describe how I do what I do. If you have ever wanted to design model aircraft you may be interested. It's a fun process to design build and fly a completely new creation. The Ebook is progressing well and will be completed soon. However, in the meantime while it is being written, plans for the Quickie are now available.
The Quickie is a Rimfire 150-180 powered lightweight flyer. The wingspan is 24.5 inches, wingarea is 127 square inches and the fuselage length is 21.5 inches. The complete airframe weight ready to fly without the battery is a mere 4 ounces.
The airframe is constructed using balsa and plywood and foam.
Flying the Quickie is pretty easy - from first handlaunch she flew directly away. My Quickie required a bit of elevator up trim which is not unusual for a first flight. My favorite way to fly this model is at half throttle and just cruise around the sky no higher than 10 feet. It has a very unique look in the air and I'm quite happy with it. Being so light it is really intended for calm winds. Sunset flights are beautiful and very enjoyable. If you are comfortable flying a spirited aileron controlled model, you will have no problem with the Quickie.
The components I used in the Quickie:
2 Hitec HS-35HD servos
