MY TAYLORCRAFT

In about 1980

You might be wondering why there has not been much forward progress in my model world? About seventeen years ago I bought a Taylorcraft. Slowly but surely I have been rebuilding it.

Truly a huge project as anyone who has built an airplane can tell you. I have about 1400 hours into the project and it's getting closer. There is still much to do. On July 1st 2015 I found a hangar to work on the airplane. You can only do so much in a single car garage, lol. I have been busy finishing fabric work and installing flight controls and just last week the wings were installed! Wow, very happy to see the wings back on the fuselage.

September 2015

As you can see there has been a big change from where the aircraft was. New leading edge's, trailing edge's, woodwork, fabric etc etc etc and many smaller parts are basically breathing new life into the 76 year old beauty. Now that the weather has turned colder, painting final colors will wait until next summer. In the meantime work will continue on systems and metal work. I will post more pictures and update progress as I get more done.
